Recently, ExpressJet Airlines developed the capability to “ping” live any MDC (Maintenance Diagnostic Computer) file and retrieve it via ACARS, in order to review Fault History and current faults from the CRJ700/900 fleet. This was created for Engineering and the Maintenance Control Center (MCC) to troubleshoot and prepare an aircraft any time a fault is reported, or to review Fault History. The second item created was for the aircraft to retrieve MDC Fault History after every flight, and have it sent to the ADS/MDC Analyzer at Bombardier/Casebank. These projects were accomplished in conjunction with SkyWest Airlines, a fellow subsidiary of ExpressJet parent SkyWest Incorporated.
