The challenge

A major commercial airline was grappling with inefficiencies in their ground support equipment (GSE) maintenance processes. In response to these challenges, they adopted a proactive approach to find a comprehensive solution. Results

Over a meticulous 6-month period, Veryon interviewed dozens of stakeholders involved in various aspects of GSE asset lifecycle management, including Parts, Shop Leads, Fleet Teams, Scheduling, Finance, IT, and Senior Leadership. The findings were consolidated and illustrated, revealing approximately 30 crucial issues within the existing GSE maintenance processes. Veryon estimated potential cost savings of around $8 million, showcasing the significance of addressing these identified challenges. Some of the key outcomes included:

  1. Holistic Stakeholder Engagement: Veryon's on-site interviews involved stakeholders from diverse areas of the business, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of the challenges and requirements across different GSE management functions.
  2. Business Value Accelerator (BVA) Methodology: The use of our BVA consultative methodology allowed for a structured and strategic approach to gathering insights. This methodology facilitated the identification and prioritization of key issues.
  3. Identified Crucial Issues: Through stakeholder engagement and analysis, Veryon identified around 30 crucial issues within their GSE maintenance processes. These issues ranged from manual-based inefficiencies to reporting challenges.
  4. Potential Cost Savings: Veryon's assessment estimated potential cost savings of approximately $8 million by addressing the identified issues. This quantifiable value demonstrated the tangible benefits of adopting Veryon's ground support equipment maintenance software.

By leveraging Veryon's comprehensive approach, the airline not only identified and illustrated the challenges within their GSE maintenance processes but also quantified the potential cost savings.
